Our team is comprised of heavy haul / project cargo experts from various industries such as project forwarding, rigging and specifically over the road transportation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for execution and documentation of the corporate Food Safety & Quality Programs. Includes documentation of all HACCP and Prerequisite Programs requirements and leading and coordinating Pest Control program.
  • Responsible for conducting investigations of all Food Safety non-conformance issues through utilization of the CAPA process.
  • Leads internal GOP, BRC S&D system audits for the facility.
  • Identifies and initiates food safety and quality improvements. Advises improvements to process, product, food safety & quality systems, and working instructions.
  • Lead internal and external audits (BRC S&D, customers, CFIA, etc.).
  • Provides Food Safety Training to the Warehouse teams annually and based on compliance needs.
  • Lead the Food Safety, Quality programs and the management and oversight of GFSI compliance and implementation, Food Defense programs, and execution of site food safety and quality systems to ensure compliance with company Food Safety / Quality Assurance requirements.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain Food Safety & Quality systems and programs to assure product integrity and compliance with BRC S&D, GOPs, HACCP, company regulatory, and customer standards.
  • Provide guidance and leadership where a potential risk has been identified and ensure root causes are addressed through a corrective and preventive action process.
  • In conjunction with facility leadership, drive the organization’s Food Safety and Quality culture.
  • Promote healthy, clean operational standards, documentation, training, and employee development.
  • Train team members and visitors on GOPs and food security standards required by GOPs, HACCP, and related SOPs/SSOPs.
  • Collaborate with the operations management team to ensure best-in-class quality and food safety.
  • Lead facility activities during any potential product recalls.
  • Actively participate in facility leadership meetings.
  • Other responsibilities as required.

Required Experience and Education:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Food Safety/Quality Assurance preferably in the food warehouse industry, with in-depth knowledge of Food Safety/Quality Systems, GFSI (BRC), and CFIA requirements.
  • B.SC in Food Science or equivalent combination of academic and professional experience.
  • Must be team-oriented and have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and develop direct reports and skills to train and motivate associates at the warehouse floor level as well.
  • Must have a moderate to a high level of computer skills, including data analysis and report writing of recommendations for corrective actions.

Will be responsible for 3 locations within the Vaughan/Brampton area.

Experience:

  • 3PL transportation industry: 2 years (preferred)
