STEADY AFTERNOONS

Position Summary

The Forklift operator will operate a forklift to move materials around the warehouse in a JIT environment. This position provides support to the production department. Responsibilities include loading and unloading trucks.

Responsibilities

• Manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids and lifting devices;
• Assist in loading and unloading of trucks;
• Performing circle checks on equipment;
• Accurately ship and receive product;
• Work closely with the shipping department to ensure timely arrival of all goods and; services to support production in the allotted time frames;
• Accurately weigh and document materials;
• Daily housekeeping and maintaining equipment and surrounding work area;
• Support Infor Visual ERP implementation
• Uphold all health & safety rules and regulations per JNM/WMT Health & Safety Manual and Ontario’s Occupational Health & Safety Act;
• Uphold all employment standards, company policies and procedures;
• Prompt and regular attendance and working all assigned hours;
• Perform any other duties, as required.

Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• 2-3 years’ experience as a forklift operator

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Organizational abilities with the task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques
• Previous experience with an ERP system is a plus
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team atmosphere
• Experience with routine maintenance operations
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and written
• Able to work under pressure

Working Conditions

• 40 - 60 hours per week as scheduled
• Day, afternoon, midnight and weekend shifts
• Plant Environment
• Exposure to loud noise
