Yard Personnel will be responsible for loading, unloading and moving material within the worksite, staging product to meet production and shipping demands, unloading incoming freight/loading outgoing freight as required, product organization and product maintenance in the shop and yard.

Job Duties:

· Unloading, inspecting, labeling, and documentation of incoming product from vendors, other branches, and customer returns

· Picking and packing parts for customer parts sales

· Assisting and/or loading of outgoing product, both FTL and LTL shipments, by courier or carrier (van or open top trailers)

· Utilizing and completing shipping documents as required (i.e. pick lists)

· Follow proper reporting practices for overages, shortages, damages, or quality concerns with material

· Communicating with other shipper/receivers, the parts desk, internal departments, and supervisor/manager

· Accurate and safe storage of materials as per receiving and bin locating process

· Gathering and transporting materials and finished products throughout the plant when applicable

· Read and interpret production drawings

· Keeping work area accessible and free of debris and clutter

· Safe handling of all product using manual devices, forklifts, and overhead cranes

· Operation of measuring instruments such as tape measure and micrometer

· Operation of powered hand tools such as impact drills

· Operation of manual hand tools such as wrenches

· Continuous improvement of storage area and its processes

· Follow all safety rules and regulations

· Accurate and thorough cycle counting as required

· Perform all other work activities as assigned and required

Requirements:

· High school diploma or equivalent is preferred

· Work related certificate or license from an accredited institution will be considered an asset

· Ability to read blueprints will be considered an asset

· Previous operation of forklift and/or overhead crane is preferred

· Valid forklift and/or overhead crane certification from recognized institution is preferred but not required

· Successful completion of in-house forklift and/or overhead crane training is required unless otherwise certified

· Previous work experience in a senior position (Lead Hand, or Supervisor) in a Yard or Warehouse is strongly preferred

Work Conditions:

· Duties are performed in a manufacturing/production environment

· Duties are primarily performed outdoors although indoor work will be required

· You will be exposed to variations in heat, cold, dust, chemicals, noise levels, and manufacturing equipment

· Long periods of standing and walking, moderate amounts kneeling and bending, moderate amounts of lifting, moderate amounts of pushing and pulling product with manual material handling equipment i.e. pallet jacks and dollies

· Some overtime may be required as business demands dictate
