  • Pay rate: $55,000 annually
  • Location: Remote work, occasional in-office days. Head office located 595 Industrial Road London, ON

The Job!

This position would be suitable for someone having direct freight forwarding experience supporting FCL and LCL movements primarily from Asia. You will be working with all parties in the global supply chain, responsible for efficient coordination and exemplary service to both internal and external customers. We need you to competently and confidently self-manage this role.

Our Freight Forwarding operation is a key component of our business as it both supports and is supported by other internal units. It is growing rapidly and has unlimited potential. We need an individual who is both willing and able to help develop this department and be well rewarded for it.

1. Key Knowledge Requirements
  • Knowledge of the flow of documents and payments in relation to freight forwarding activity.
  • Knowledge of Customs clearance communication and procedures.
  • Previous experience with Descartes Forwarder Logic, Cargowise. or similar.
  • Exposure / experience with e-manifest in the CBSA portal or 3rd party applications.
2. Daily Activity
  • Approve customer bookings from Overseas agents and enter into our system.
  • Update / ensure accuracy of shipment details and dates as shipping documents arrive.
  • Manage profit margins according to guidelines.
  • Update tracking tools and communicate status to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate FCL drayage shipments to our facilities and or customer locations.
  • Coordinate payment of CFS costs for LCL shipments and arrange transportation to same.
  • Provide customs brokers with required documents and monitor clearance statuses.
  • File communication and documentation in an efficient manner.
  • Facilitate customer service with other internal departments.
  • Provide reporting as required to customers.
  • Provide quotes for new and existing business.
  • Assist in implementation and set up of new business.
  • Identify and implement improvements in processes, procedures.
