Career Opportunity:
The Mississauga facility is hiring a FTOP who will be responsible for feeding, packing, folding and gluing based on SOPs related to specific equipment as well as other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Primary duties include feeding flat cartons into a hopper on the folder/gluer, packing folded/glued cartons into corrugated cases, gathering and labeling samples of finished cartons, and completing documentation using a computer. The FTOP employee is also responsible for inspecting cartons for glue, fold, tears, cutting errors, and major print issues.

What other skills or abilities are required for this position?
  • Reading production docket for any special instructions
  • Verifying information on docket and preparing case labels
  • Ensuring correct number of cartons are placed in each case, and that cases are correctly labelled
  • Inspecting cartons for glue, fiber tear, creases, cracking, as well as print defects
  • Ensuring cartons are glued to customer specifications
  • Purging cartons when job is completed and paperwork is filled out
  • Complying with all safety policies and procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and quality procedures
  • Assisting with the general maintenance and housekeeping of the department
Job Conditions and Environment
Plant environment with exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, and noise (hearing protection required). Standing and walking 100% of shift on a concrete floor

What you need to succeed:
Understanding of the printing business. Work as an integral team member adding value to the Department.

Additional hours above regular scheduled shift may be possible to cover for absences or vacation days, along with meeting production needs.
