Job Description


SSENSE is looking for an experienced driver who enjoys physical and fast-paced environments. The driver will be responsible for performing various tasks and activities to process the flow of goods which includes loading the truck from its Fulfillment Center, delivering the goods to different locations and other duties as assigned. Additionally, during low volume periods, the driver will be working within the Fulfillment Center to pick store appointment goods and prepare delivery bins. The driver will also be responsible for meeting and exceeding performance requirements in the areas of safety, quality, and productivity.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform deliveries on time
  • Load and unload deliveries
  • Complete time and maintenance sheets
  • Maintain pickup and delivery logs
  • Pick Store appointment orders
  • Prepare delivery bins
  • Ensure safety and security of equipment and merchandise
  • Identify and resolve issues on site
  • Optimize productivity and accuracy with minimal supervision, while consistently meeting and exceeding minimum performance requirements
  • Provide cross-functional support within the department as well as other departments
  • Collaborate with team members in order to advance continuous process improvements
  • Manage and organize the storage space

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 6 months experience in distribution and transportation
  • Valid driver’s license, Class 5 or above
  • Driver's record in good standing provided by SAAQ (zero demerit points) * A copy of such a record will be asked. Drivers can place the request via the SAAQ.
  • Experience driving a 16 - 20 ft truck
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends (must be available to work overtime & every day of the week)
  • Ability to walk 5km per day with equipment and/or stand for extended periods, when required
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50 lbs
