Full Time Support Worker Needed - Tecumseh Job at Durham Family Resources
Looking for an easy going and thoughtful individual to provide support for a 36 year old male in his home and within his community.
This role would be best suited for someone who is flexible, reliable and can provide thoughtful and sensitive accompaniment. Someone who can engage a curious man in creative ways while maintaining a calm and adaptable energy. This man experiences several seizures a day so the daily would appreciate having someone who has the skill set to manage seizures and is comfortable. There is also lots of down time post seizures when he sleeps.
As his support worker, you posses a willingness to learn, have strong observation and communication skills and can follow the lead and direction of the family.
Shifts include: Currently looking for coverage from Tuesday to Sat (approx. 40 hours a week between 8-4 p.m) Rate of pay $23-25 an hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Some of the supportive duties required include: Personal Care, Transportation, Alternative Communication Devices, Building Life Skills, Sports, Medication Administration, Participation in Community Events and Activities.
**This is a self-employed Independent Support Worker position. This position works directly with a family and all scheduling and training is family lead**
