Where does the General Accountant fit in?

The General Accountant will support the Finance team on day-to-day accounting tasks, month end closing, customer payments reconciliations against sales invoices and assisting with recording purchase invoices.

What you can expect as our next General Accountant:

• Ensure all shipped goods & services are invoiced to customers
• Reconcile all sales to Customers statement & resolve any disputed/rejected items.
• Apply customers payment to invoices based on the remittances and investigate/follow up any discrepancies or unpaid invoices
• Follow up and chase collection from Customers especially on old balances
• Prepare AR aging report for discussion on a weekly basis
• Follow up with Program/Project managers on all Project variances between actual spending and budgeted amounts.
• Invoice Tooling projects revenue in line with the approved customer POs
• Prepare the monthly forecast of Tooling costs & revenue to support the cash flow projections
• Help with the recording and posting of Purchases invoices
• Filing and general administrative tasks
• Support and assist with financial and year-end audits
• Prepare Continuity schedule for Balance sheet accounts including Fixed Assets
• Analyze specific I&S Expense accounts for better understanding of its trend & variance against the budget
• Other duties as assigned

Are you our next General Accountant?

• Post-secondary degree/diploma in Accounting or related field
• 2-3 years’ experience in accounting or bookkeeping
• Enrollment in CPA Accounting program is an asset
• Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage 50 , SAP etc.
• Knowledge of Intermediate Excel
• Planning and organizational skills
• Deadline oriented and attention to details
• Confidentiality attitude
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
