Position Title: Group Account Executive
Reports To: Group Sales Vice President, Eastern Canada
Department: Group East
Term: Permanent Full-Time
Location: Southwestern Ontario

Work Arrangements: This role is 100% remote and will require some travel within the territory (the successful candidate will receive a car allowance).

The Opportunity: As the Group Account Executive, you will be responsible for new business sales and the profitable management of a portfolio of group benefit clients, specifically supporting our consulting firm clients.

What you will be doing:
  • Develop strong partnerships, and profitably manage relationships with our consulting firm groups
  • Sell Equitable Life group products & services by using modern selling techniques and developing strong partnerships with clients, advisors, and TPA's
  • Conduct financial negotiations with clients and advisors to ensure the assigned block of business renews profitably each year
  • Overall responsibility for developing client/advisor relationships, understanding their needs, teaching, and delivering on their service expectations
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing industry publications, establishing your professional network
  • Offer valuable perspectives to client/advisors
  • Educate clients/advisors and help them navigate alternatives
What you will bring:
  • 3+ years of experience in successful sales/consulting of group benefits insurance (previous underwriting experience an asset)
  • In depth knowledge of group benefit plan design; applicable financial and underwriting principles; and taxation rules as applied to group benefit plans
  • Proven leadership and mentoring/coaching skills
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • Computer literacy including familiarity with group benefits web applications
  • Customer focused and able to work successfully as part of a team
  • Proven track record of using insights, negotiation and influencing skills to drive sales
  • Valid drivers license in good standing and access to a vehicle to travel within the territory (Waterloo/Southwestern Ontario)
