This is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door with a start-up mining company and gain valuable open pit operating experience! Candidates must be prepared to travel in their own vehicle to a remote mine camp located 400 km’s west of Timmins.

Summary:

Reporting to the Supervisor of Mine Operations, the Haul Truck Operator is responsible for their safety and the safety of their co-workers while hauling and dumping ore and waste material from development and production sources. As this is a start-up position, the successful candidate may also be required to assist with other mine related services as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate Komatsu haul trucks or similar to meet daily plan and operation targets
• Effective communication using a 2-way radio system
• Maintain equipment integrity and complete job hazard analysis reports and equipment logbooks
• Follow all company specific safety protocols and Occupational Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Approach shovels and other loading tool in accordance with safe work practices and be loaded
• Safely drive haul trucks to dumping area, ensure safe dump procedures are complied with
• Other duties as assigned from time-to-time

Key Qualifications:

• Three to five years of experience operating a haul truck, preferably Komatsu (up to 1000) in an open pit setting is required
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team to achieve best-in-class efficiency and productivity
• Self-motivated with excellent time management skills and the ability to manage competing demands and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to communicate clearly
• Ability to support and promote Health & Safety practices
• Must have a Driver’s Licence and own reliable transportation

Schedule: 7/7 OR 14/14 (must be willing to commute to a remote mine site in your personal vehicle with a provided travel allowance)
