We are looking for a vibrant and motivated individual to make a difference in our competitive WAG Program as our new Head Coach. Come work your magic, and lead our competitive women's program to an amazing new level!

Flexible hours are available; however, you can expect that there will be some evening and weekend work.

Inside our 15-thousand square foot air conditioned facility, we have an exceptionally well-equipped gym. We also have a dance instruction studio/meeting room, offices, change rooms, and an excellent viewing gallery on our mezzanine.

Responsibilities

  • Create a positive and safe environment where athletes can develop and improve their skills and thrive through well thought out training sessions with specific learning outcomes
  • Responsible to oversee all aspects of the WAG competitive program, including training and competition schedules, registration for competitions, training camps and events specific to WAG athletes and help prepare athletes for successful performance at competitions
  • Participate in coaching clinics and instruction, help supervise and mentor coaches on preferred and success driven drills and spotting techniques
  • Observe, analyze and evaluate athletes and prospective athletes seeking to join the WAG teams
  • Travel and attend competitions
  • Communicate with and engage with all WAG athletes at all levels and ages in the learning process, be a strong role model and model exemplary behaviour towards guiding strong and compassionate youth
  • Provide specific feedback and encouragement to athletes, knowledge of or background as a WAG judge would be highly desirable
  • Liaise with parents, coaches, team members and office staff to ensure optimal program delivery
  • Sound background and experience working in a team environment and a desire to make a difference in the lives of youth through sport and sport development

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • NCCP Gymnastics Comp2 Certified (or equivalent Level 3) or higher
  • NCCP Trampoline Comp1 or Level 2 Certified
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Code of Points and CCP/DP requirements
  • High Performance and National level coaching experience highly desired
  • Criminal Record Check (including vulnerable sector)
  • Current First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)
  • Respect in Sport, Making Ethical Decisions, Safe Sport Training

This is a full-time position with flexibility to be 32-40 hours per week to ensure work-life balances can be met, because we know, having fun outside work is just as important as having fun at work! An ideal start date would be July, August or September in order to support and prepare for the upcoming competitive season.
