Here's how an Health and Safety Supervisor for our Montreal office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Implements and supports project HSE plans, regulatory requirements, and other safe work practices.
  • Develops and delivers project specific HSE training.
  • Implements district HSE communication strategies on projects.
  • Recognizes, evaluates, and advises on hazard identification.
  • Leads project HSE inspections and monitors the quality and effectiveness of inspections and trade safety plans.
  • Develops and evaluates efficiency of the project emergency response plan, site-specific security requirements and the environmental plan.
  • Monitors and audits trade partner HSE performance.
  • Participates in on-site investigative processes and evaluating corrective actions taken.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Coaches, trains and mentors HSE Coordinators.

Qualifications

  • Postsecondary diploma/degree in OH&S or a related field (preferred).
  • 5 years’ experience in a health and safety role in a related industry (preferred).
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role is an asset.
  • Solid understanding of applicable OH&S and environmental legislation and HSE processes.
  • Conflict resolution skills, with the ability to problem-solve.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction processes and terminology.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
