We are currently looking for the right candidate to fill the position of HD Mechanic Position at Clairmont Alberta.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and prioritize day to day workload for the repair shop
  • Manage and prioritize tasks for Lead Hands
  • Assign work to shop staff according to skill and proficiency
  • Ensure quality control throughout the repair process
  • Supervise other mechanics & apprentices.
  • Diagnose engine problems, after treatment issues, a/c, air systems, suspension, and alignment
  • Keeping and maintaining a clean workspace
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work done meet's manufacturer's specifications and legislated regulations and
  • Conduct final inspection of completed repairs
  • Perform diagnostics for shop & customers-mechanical, electrical, computer
  • Maintain a high level of employee productivity at all times
  • Maintain open communication with Service staff, Parts Staff and Management
  • Communicate updates, deficiencies, and additional requirements to Customers
  • Conduct regular shop meetings with staff
  • Ensure compliance with the published company policies and procedures
  • Conduct continuous training of new and existing employees on proper industry practices
  • Seek continuous professional self-development.
  • Maintain a high level of ethics and integrity within the service department and with customers.
  • Keep employee morale high through encouragement
  • Investigate employee mistakes/errors and coach corrections
  • Any other duties assigned by the supervisor not far outside my expertise and training.

Qualifications and Skills;

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • On-road inter-provincial Truck Transport License
  • 2-5 years’ experience in lead hand or supervisory role
  • CVIP License and knowledge of regulations
  • Proficiency with tools, service procedures, electrical diagnostics, engine diagnostics, and suspension knowledge of all makes and models of trucks.
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and have basic computer skills
  • Trade Diploma/Certificate or equivalent work experience or equivalent formal training in related duties
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle stress.
  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • High level of written and verbal communications
  • Basic knowledge and skill in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook to maintain electronic files, send and receive emails (knowledge of Karmak an asset)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
