Kichton Contracting Ltd (KCL) has been in business since 1963 and is based out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. KCL is classified as a medium sized civil earthworks contractor. Our work ranges from residential earthworks, commercial site development to industrial projects. Our services include grading design for all types of new commercial and industrial sites along with retrofitting existing sites to accommodate new site development.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair various types of heavy equipment (CAT, John Deere, Hitachi, Komatsu) in a safe and environmentally friendly manner to maximize equipment availability and performance.
• Perform preventative maintenance and servicing of fleet vehicles and heavy equipment
• Complete detailed reports on service and repairs at the end of each shift
• Maintain all equipment on a continuous basis including keeping it clean and free of safety hazards.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards
• Communicate updates pertaining to maintenance, safety and/or environmental issues to supervisor on a daily basis.
• Take oil samples and complete necessary paperwork required to process
• Participate in daily toolbox talks and regular safety meetings
• Promote safety awareness by ensuring compliance of corporate health and safety policies and procedures
• Report all incidents, damage and near misses immediately

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Journeyman Trade Certification
• Minimum of 5 years of previous experience working as a Mechanic in Construction
• Valid class 5 driver’s license (clean abstract) with own transportation
• Able to pass a drug & alcohol screening
• Valid CSTS-2020
• Valid WHMIS 2015 certification
