We are looking for a like-minded individual to join our fast pace environment at our Queensville location, someone with a positive attitude that demonstrates great organization skills and maintains a safe work area.

The position is preformed in our Mechanic Shop in our Queensville Yard, as well as out in the field, so a valid drivers license is required.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a full time Heavy Equipment Mechanic with experience working on excavators, bulldozers, front end loaders, commercial trucks and other related construction equipment. Responsibilities of this position include:

· Performs all duties and tasks related to the preventative and corrective maintenance (mechanical, electrical & hydraulic) of transport/dump trucks & trailers, heavy equipment and other related construction equipment.
· Work from blueprints, service manuals and schematic drawings.
· Conduct inspections, tests, repair and replace parts in remote locations outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Comfortable using both stick and MIG welding application when preforming various fabrication tasks.
· Must be able to work well in both independent and team environment.
· Prepare and submit equipment maintenance records, time sheets, etc.
· Has the utmost respect for safety procedures including the use of safety clothing, equipment and ensures any concerns are reported to management.
· Ensures cleanliness and organization of shop, maintains tools and equipment, able to load/unload heavy materials/tools and keeps equipment stored in an organized and neat fashion, etc.

Qualifications & Skills:

· Excellent safety record and the highest degree of dependability.
· Able to work long days, flexible work hours & weekends
· 3+ years of experience as a Licensed Heavy Equipment Mechanic (421A) or Truck & Coach Mechanic (310T).
· A year 2 or above apprentice working towards 421A or 310T licence will also be considered
· 3+ years of experience with repairing and maintaining Heavy Equipment
· Valid driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract
· Air Brake Endorsement required
· Must have own tools applicable to position
· Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the role (heavy lifting, bending, climbing, working at heights)
· Background in mechanical knowledge, particularly with various heavy duty engines and extensive knowledge of heavy equipment is an asset
· Experienced with hydraulic and/or electrical work
· Strong problem-solving skills
· Exhibits strong teamwork, verbal and written skills
· Ability to work safely in a fast pace environment
· Demonstrates superior time management skills
· Must speak fluent English
