We are a young, thriving company, located in Markham and we are seeking an extroverted HR Assistant to join our HR team at our Markham headquarters. We are looking for Human Resources Assistant who will be responsible for providing day-to day HR support. It's an entry-level HR role, and the incumbent will work under the guidance of an HR Generalist. Ideally the candidates would have at least one year of experience in an HR-related position or intern experience from an HR Certificate Program.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

- Support the end-to-end recruiting, such as posting jobs, screening resumes, scheduling and conducting assessments, scheduling and coordinating interviews, conducting reference and background check.
- Assist the New HRIS implementation, such as updating and maintaining the employee data and files, coordinating the user training, and answering the related HRIS questions & escalated where needed.
- Assist with onboarding and benefits administration of new hires, and answer employee questions as they arise
- Assist with health and Safety projects and initiatives
- Assist in creating and editing HR content in communications, orientation, and presentations.
- Collecting, verifying, and submitting agency timesheets and invoices.
- Assist with other special HR projects as determined by business needs, such as; HR events, employee communications and company-wide meetings.

Qualifications:

- A completed University or College degree/diploma in Human Resources.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a coordinator or administrative role.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to gain the trust and credibility of business managers
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while being able to be organized and being able to keep a float all information
- Experience working with HIRS, Microsoft Office (Particularly Excel), and PowerPoint
- Team-oriented and enjoys working in a highly collaborative environment
- Excellent communication skills: strong verbal and written fluency in English required
- Comfortable working with highly sensitive information and being able to keep the information confidential
