The opportunity:
We are looking for an HR Data and Analytics Lead to join Nova Scotia Power’s Human Resources team. Our downtown based corporate head office is located along the Halifax waterfront, where we offer a hybrid work option, enabling you to work from home 2 days each week.

Reporting to the Director, Talent and Change, you will be responsible for building data solutions that influence our people strategy and the overall employee experience. The data and metrics will provide insights and inform diversity, equity and inclusion, workforce planning, talent acquisition, retention, and talent development strategies.

Key elements of the role include:
Responsibility for HR metrics and analytics, researching and presenting data, developing ad hoc reports.
Meeting with leaders and stakeholders to understanding the talent situation across the business and offer data-driven insights & recommendations.
Measuring the effectiveness of our strategic people and culture initiatives.
Monitoring HR system data integrity and offering continuous improvement suggestions tied to our processes and technology all while ensuring full compliance with data privacy guidelines.
Acting as the primary point of contact during regulatory proceedings, filings, and compliance tracking involving people and culture information and data, where timely responsiveness is essential.

As Nova Scotia Power’s HR Data and Analytics Lead, you are an integral part of the NSP HR, Talent and Change team, and will work closely with Emera’s Corporate Data and Analytics team to deliver timely data and information to enable Nova Scotia Power leaders to make informed decisions related to people and culture.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a Data Science-related field: preferably with a quantitative focus, such as Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Five years of experience in a related field, providing human capital analytics and data insights services at an enterprise level.
Ability to proactively gather, analyze, interpret, and translate data into meaningful insights.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks effectively, prioritize requests, and adapt well to change.
Strong attention to detail, management of deadlines, and accuracy of processing data while working in a fast-paced environment.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel is essential.
You bring a collaborative problem-solving approach with the ability to work individually and as a team.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability be inquisitive while building trust with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience with developing reporting and visualizations using Tableau is considered an asset.
