Position Type: Permanent

FTE/Hours: 1.0 FTE / 35 Hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm

Annual Compensation: $59,493.00 to $74,604.00 commensurate with education, skills and experience.

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Information System (HRIS) Administrator is responsible for administering the Board’s HRIS – School District System (SDS) and related research/reporting activities, in support of the achievement of Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board’s vision and mission.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

  • Integration of human resources data with several other Board and Ministry information systems including: SmartFind Express, Electronic Registrar Online, SafeSchools, OnSIS, PowerSchool, Active Directory, Teacher Performance Appraisal System (SharePoint), and Parklane
  • Controls the structure and population of the HRIS database, documenting protocols for data collection, verification, security and integrity
  • Supporting Education Centre and school leaders to enter, maintain and track teacher orientation, certification and performance management information, and to prepare Ministry and College of Teachers reports for timely, accurate submission.
  • Develop analyses, queries and reporting standards for a full range of standard and specialized reports and statistical summaries in support of human resources initiatives.
  • Provides back-up to the Attendance Coordinator’s role, providing user support for the Absence Recording & Call-Out System (ARCS), when required

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The successful candidate will bring the following skills and experiences to the role:

  • 3 year college diploma or university degree with human resources background, preferably working towards completion of the C.H.R.P. designation
  • 3 to 5 years of previous HRIS experience, preferably in a public sector/education environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, designing and implementing HRIS project plans.
  • An unwavering commitment to database accuracy/integrity through ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the HRIS.
  • Proven research and analytical skills involving large amounts of employee/organizational data.
  • Proven success in delivering on multiple priorities, conflicting deadlines and program initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation, and monitoring of new/modified systems to meet business requirements.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
  • Previous experience working with confidential information, maintaining employee privacy and setting a standard for privacy in the workplace.
  • As infrequent travel throughout the school district is required, the successful candidate must have a valid driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle.
