What are we looking for?

The HR Co-op will be a member of the Welland Team and working closely to support our North American Human Resources department. This includes performing a variety of assignments to support the optimization of talent acquisition, training and employee relations initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Human Resources team in a variety of administrative tasks, not limited to: file management, tracking and communicating sick and personal emergency days, peer review and training tracking.
  • Assisting the HR team in recruitment activities, such as resume evaluation, phone screening and scheduling interviews
  • Planning new hire orientation and employee training events
  • Communicating with stakeholder's and third-party vendors for both training and site events
  • Communicating with candidates on recruiting logistics
  • Assisting the HR team in coordinating site visits and ordering supplies
  • Assisting the HR team with site communications regarding upcoming events, onboarding team members and HR reminders

Qualifications

  • In process of completing bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management
  • Experience working within a manufacturing setting would be considered an asset

  • Professional demeanor/customer service oriented
  • Ability to multi-task, and deliver key objectives within established timelines
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft software, such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Oracle and/or other ERP systems preferred
