B.I.G. Consulting Inc. (BIG) is a consulting engineering firm providing integrated services in several disciplines including environmental, geotechnical, hydrogeology and construction materials testing. The Partners of the firm are industry recognized professionals and BIG’s staff include highly qualified professional engineers and geoscientists. Our business focus is to service a variety of clients, offer them a single point of contact and carry out all services by our qualified staff internally. We are looking for a candidate to be in our Toronto or Mississauga office.

Technical Skills/Abilities/Experience:

  • Responsible for collection of hydrogeological data under direction from Senior Staff, including:

logging of soil borings and rock cores, oversight of groundwater monitoring well installations, collection of surface water and groundwater samples and levels, collect surface water flows, aquifer testing (slug tests and pumping tests) and drilling or test pitting supervision

  • Collect and evaluate field measurements and record data in clear and concise field notes
  • Data compilation, interpretation, and analysis of geotechnical and hydrogeological field and analytical data for technical reports
  • Assist in the preparation of data tables, stratigraphic logs, and figures, as required
  • Preparation of draft technical memos, reports, and deliverables including but not limited to hydrogeological report, environmental investigation reports, remedial design, monitoring reports, and permitting

Education / Qualifications / Memberships:

  • Bachelors degree in environmental science, hydrogeology, engineering or relevant field
  • Eligible for P.Geo. registration
  • Any experience related to hydrogeology or field investigation is preferred. New graduates are also encouraged to apply
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is a must
  • At least two (2) doses of Covid-19 vaccination or a letter of exemption from a licenced physician

Salary: $50,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
