- Create and manage the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to monitor the supply chain / inbound freight performance, potential and shortfall
- Assess, recommend and execute on shipment options with internal and external carriers and suppliers
- Routinely review purchase orders and associated freight elements
- Adjust and recommend cost improvement strategies in collaboration with internal and external partners
- Audit carrier invoicing to ensure accuracy
- Create and maintain SOP in respect to the role of Inbound Freight Specialist
- Post-Secondary education in the field of Transportation and Supply Chain considered an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required
- Strong time management and organization skills to manage multiple tasks required
- Previous experience sourcing, reviewing and auditing transportation services preferred
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills required
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and the use of v-lookups and pivot tables required
- Experience in the Foodservice Industry considered an asset
