Your Role and Responsibilities
This position resides in Toronto, Ontario and is a 4-month work term commencing May 2023. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term.
IBM Consultants work directly with our clients on key initiatives. You will have the opportunity to work with our consultants as they build an in-depth understanding of the client’s business issues and implement organizational strategies that drive adoption of change.
The IBM Payment Center enables Financial Institutions and corporations in their payments modernization effort.
In this role you will gain a thorough understanding of the nature of the business problems in the payment industry, and the products and solutions offered by the IBM Payment Center (IPC) that provide value in solving those problems. You will learn the trends and directions of the industry, the marketplace, and the players.
Main responsibilities:
- Identify new business opportunities, creatively participate in the development of solutions, and to provide strong assistance to IBM in the winning of that business;
- Be familiar with the contractual requirements for their area of practice and be capable of drafting and reviewing responses to Requests for Information (RFI), responses to Requests for Proposal (RFP), IBM contracts, and IBM statements of work;
- Develop strong and trusted relationships with other areas of IBM used in the delivery of complex services;
- Adapt communications and approaches to conclude negotiations with various partners, resulting in common agreements;
- Analyze complex/new situations;
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Requires ability to absorb professional knowledge quickly and develop skills.
- Draw upon professional concepts to collaborate with others to carry out assigned duties.
- Recognize job-related problems. analyze causes using existing techniques or tools, prepare and recommend solution alternatives. Challenge the validity of given procedures and processes with the intent to enhance and improve.
- Accountable for individual or team results. May contribute by supporting activities that are subject to business measurements, impact customer satisfaction, or impact immediate costs or expenses.
- Must be eligible to work 4 months starting in May
