Catholic Social Services is currently seeking one (1), contract, full Time, 37.5 hours per week, Intercultural Education Facilitator in EDMONTON to join our team. Job Summary:

As an Intercultural Education Facilitator, you will help individuals or groups learn about and understand different cultures, promoting cross-cultural communication, providing guidance and support to individuals and organizations seeking to develop their intercultural competence, and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and ideas between people from different cultural backgrounds to interact effectively and respectfully.

Your focus is on the creation, development, and delivery of high-quality materials and suitable resources designed to support group sessions for clients, staff, and other stakeholders to develop intercultural skills and competencies and make progress toward their goals.

Session topics may include Intercultural Awareness, Parenting in Two Cultures, Take Control of Anger, Parenting Teenagers in Canada, and Men’s and/or Women’s groups. This position includes creating new workshops/training as needed by clients, staff, or the community.

Responsible for the smooth presentation of internal and external workshops in person or online, coordinating the equipment, materials, and locations for both internal and external clients while maintaining records.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Degree in education, intercultural studies, or equivalent
  • Experience developing and delivering workshops for adults
  • Having worked in a multicultural environment previously
  • Expertise in both intercultural theory and application
  • Knowledge of educational and community resources
  • Strong counseling, presentation, and public speaking skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Proficient in the use of computers, including online video conferencing platforms (i.e., Microsoft Teams and Zoom), Word, Excel, Outlook
  • You offer flexibility as you may be asked to work on Saturday or in the evening depending on the need

A valid driver's license and vehicle are required.

Police Information Check including vulnerable sector search and Intervention Record Check are conditions of employment and the financial responsibility of the candidate.

Fluency in Somali, Swahili, Kinyarwanda and/or French is an asset.
