Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Strategic Enrolment, the International Admissions Officer provides applicant, admissions, and registration support to the Enrolment Services team by evaluating and processing international student inquiries and applications in a timely manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures all international applications received via the web application are processed efficiently to enhance and meet enrolment targets
  • Reviews all new applications to determine eligibility for admission or future enrolment
  • Evaluates documentation needed for admission purposes and processes admission decisions based on policies and procedures
  • Creates and reviews daily status reports within the web application to ensure updates are processed in a timely manner and applications are moved through the various stages of processing
  • Provides specific admissions information to agents, students, and other key stakeholders
  • Tracks, collects data, and provides reports to contribute to maximizing international student enrolment and retention, maximizing strategic mandate goals

Qualifications

  • Completion of a two (2) year diploma in Business, Social Studies, International Education, or related field
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience working in a busy office environment. Experience working in a post-secondary institution, with knowledge of the application process considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience using Banner or OCAS/IAS considered an asset
  • Knowledge of, or experience with international educational systems considered an asset
  • Superior communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • An ability to apply an understanding of diversity and inclusiveness to meet the needs of a diverse student population
