We are currently recruiting for an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join our IT Team in our downtown Calgary office. This role will provide critical service to our user base within the organization. You will help coordinate the installation, administration, and maintenance of our critical systems, as well as provide telephone/remote support for field and office users all over Alberta.

Duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide first touch 1st/ 2nd tier support to all users via telephone, email or in person.
  • Log, manage, and escalate IT requests/issues within our support ticket system.
  • Installation, administration, and maintenance of our cloud environment (Microsoft Azure).
  • Coordinating and implementing system software and hardware (net new or upgrades).
  • Participate in troubleshooting system outages and performance issues.
  • Supporting application owners with formulating and defining the objectives and scope of business systems.
  • Making recommendations on hardware and software procurement to support business goals.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date documentation for policies, procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Running diagnostic tests and performing repairs, as well as developing backup, archiving, and data retrieval procedures.
  • Providing IT support for regulatory and compliance activities.
  • Adhere to polices and established governance with regards to IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Being part of an on-call rotation of one week a month where you will take escalations from our after-hour support desk team.
Qualifications:
  • A diploma or undergraduate degree majoring in an Information Technology or computer-related field.
  • Basic knowledge and experience supporting products in the Microsoft ecosphere; Office 365, Windows 10/11, Windows Server, SQL, and Azure would all be considered an asset.
  • Experience with an MDM, such as Intune would be an asset.
  • Experience with support ticket system (RemedyForce) would be an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are a must; ability to work with users with a wide range of technical ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and problem solve while dealing with a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork and conflict management fundamentals.
  • Creative, self-motivated, and driven.
  • Willingness to learn and apply new technologies.
  • Able to lift at least 25 lbs.
  • SCCM / MDT experience, including but not limited to OS base image configuration, driver management, application management, device deployment, O365 patch cycles.
  • Basic Scripting experience (Powershell, Command Shell).
  • General understanding of managing a virtual desktop solution. (Azure virtual desktop, Citrix XenApp).
  • Oil and gas industry experience would be considered an asset.
  • 2-5 years system administration experience.
