Junior Accountant Job at Uptree HR

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this position is a great opportunity for a student or a recent graduate from a business program. The position is full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, and will provide a wide breadth of experience and knowledge of the components of a growing Nova Scotia owned and operated business.

What you'll do
Responsibilities

Support the Finance & Admin team by:
Assisting with accounts payable tasks such as downloading, coding, assigning invoices through AP software
Reconcile vendor accounts to Accounts Payable and work with vendors to resolve issues.
Assist Financial Controller with aspects of monthly accounting cycle; including reconciling key GL accounts, providing sales reporting and analysis
Create timely and accurate operational reports to leadership team.
What you'll need
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in accounting/business or equivalent experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Intermediate skill in Excel
Comfortable writing and modifying formulas (VLOOKUP, IF, SUM functions)
Comfortable creating and modifying Pivot Tables, generating Excel based reports
Comfortable navigating and interpreting new information systems
Experience with CDK-IntelliDealer and/or Docuware would be considered an asset but not necessary
Positive attitude and enjoys forging new relationships
Passion for learning new skills and willingness to take on a wide variety of tasks
Candidate should be a process-oriented individual who enjoys solving problems with a strong technological aptitude
Inquisitive, not afraid to make mistakes and ask questions!
