Grid Environment is currently looking for a junior environmental field technician to join our team at our Regina office. The individual will integrate into a well developed team of environmental specialists and technicians to provide field monitoring services at oil and gas facilities. This is a safety-oriented position and the qualified candidate will bring both technical and field experience. This is a full-time position and this role is approximately 90% field based.

Qualifications:

Your key responsibilities are as following, but not limited to:

  • Conduct fugitive emissions field surveys on active refineries, chemical plants and upstream oil and gas sites
  • Execution of Leak Detection and Repair Program (LDAR) in accordance to EPA Method 21
  • Perform simple equipment maintenance and calibration
  • Review P&IDs and update database inventory
  • Provide various environmental monitoring & inspection services
  • Preparation of technical reports for clients
  • Data analysis and quality assurance
  • Maintain positive working relationship with client contacts, suppliers and contractors

Your Capabilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently
  • Ability to perform simple calculations and data interpretation

Minimum Requirements

  • 0-2 years of industrial experience working in oil & gas refineries, plants, etc
  • Diploma or B.Sc in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemical or similar discipline
  • Must possess good driving record and a valid driver’s license (Have own vehicle)
  • Must be located or willing to relocate to Regina, SK (No relocation package)
  • Willingness and ability to climb ladders and work at heights
  • Willingness and ability to work for extended periods of time outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Willingness to travel within Canada (10-20% of the time)
