Junior Projects Co-ordinator/Estimator - Inuvik Job at Inuvialuit Regional Corporation
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Junior projects coordinator assists in overseeing the existing projects, coordinating with suppliers in the North, and providing estimates on newer projects.
The ideal candidate will have the following combination of education, experience, and knowledge:
- Completion of Grade 12 would be considered an asset.
- Strong math skills are an asset.
- Computer skills including Excel.
- Background or some prior experience in construction.
- Written communication skills, including the ability to complete logs and reports.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of applicable construction standards and code requirements.
- Ability to estimate time and materials for newer projects.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with suppliers and customers.
- Ability to address issues that arise effectively and identify solutions.
- Ability to monitor, track and provide updates on progress.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications for materials take offs.
- Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.
- Travel to different communities may be required from time to time.
- Must adhere to all safety regulations including the use of PPE while on job sites.
