Introduction

Sterling Mutuals Inc. is seeking a junior Software Developer to join our expanding company. This job description is for a developer who will be responsible for maintaining /developing code of our Backoffice software.

Responsibilities

As a Sterling Mutuals Inc. programmer, you will:

  • Work with Sterling staff (e.g, senior developer, support staff, and management) to plan program code enhancements and changes.
  • Create, test, and maintain program code / SQL database.
  • Occasionally contact customers as may be needed to clarify the intent of a new feature or resolve a problem.
  • Provide general programming assistance to other Sterling programmers/projects as needed.

Requirements:

Must Have:

  • Hands on development with Java. Experience or training in industry standard professional development tools (Netbeans, Eclipse, Visual Studio). We believe that talented developer can bridge language gaps quickly.
  • Understanding and experience of MVC Framework.
  • Experience with SQL Databases
  • Create and read UML Diagrams (Entity models, Component diagrams)
  • Bachelor’s degree in related area (Computer science, Information systems, Engineering)
  • Self-motivated, highly driven

Highly Desirable:

  • Understanding or Experience with open-source frameworks, Spring and Hibernate.
  • Understanding or Experience with JSF or ASPX, or similar technologies.
  • Working experience with client-side java scripting.
  • Web services experience: REST, SOAP, etc.
  • Familiar with Source control, GIT, SVN.
  • Experience working with testers, familiar with code review and black box testing process.
  • Problem solving skills, strong logical reasoning and solution oriented.
  • Genuine passion for IT technology and software development.

The programmer should also possess the following traits:

  • Prefer a fast-paced working environment.
  • Enjoy maintaining/enhancing code to meet changing customer/industry needs.
  • Have a “customer-service” orientation.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
