About the role:

As part of the Human Resources team, our Talent Acquisition Specialist will participate in full lifecycle recruitment, from talent sourcing and attracting candidates to interviewing and hiring the best employees for Calian Group. This position will partner directly with the hiring managers and consult with them promptly to identify, assess, and source candidates.

The responsibilities of the Talent Acquisition Specialist are to collaborate, make recommendations and work side by side with our Human Resources Business Partners (HRBP) and hiring managers to attract, hire and retain the best employees while growing a pipeline to enable our growth.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Strategize and implement recruitment plans
  • Conduct intake meetings with hiring managers to understand the team needs and the position requirements. Advise on expectations, policies, processes, and recruiting initiatives
  • Assist in the creation of professional job descriptions and internal/external job postings, and post on various job boards
  • Conduct full-cycle recruitment including reviewing candidate resumes, conducting pre-screen calls, recommend top candidates to the hiring manager for further consideration, scheduling interviews, creating interview guides, conducting interviews with hiring team, and completing reference checks
  • Build and maintain strong pipelines of top talent for pro-active recruiting
  • Negotiate offer details with candidates (rates, terms of employment, start dates, etc.)
  • Establish and maintain solid relationships with hiring managers, providing strategic guidance and advice as a trusted talent partner
  • Represent Calian at career events and develop relationships with candidates
  • Stay on top of the recruiting industry trends and best practices
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and participate in recruiting projects as required

The Skills and Experience You Have:

  • Post-secondary education in business, preferably with a specialization in Human Resources
  • 1+ years of demonstrated recruiting experience
  • Excellent presentation and communication (written and oral) skills
  • Experience interviewing and negotiating offers
  • Experience with social media and other methods of networking
  • Highly developed sense of tact, discretion, and judgement in dealing with confidential, sensitive and/or delicate matters
  • This is a hybrid opportunity based in Saskatoon, SK
  • You will be able to obtain a Controlled Goods and Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level
