ROLE:
  • Work within a team to perform a variety of manual duties and tasks throughout the site, specifically in entry-level positions.
  • Based on qualifications, experience and needs, you could become one of the three Entry Level Production Workers in the following Departments: Paper Mill or Newsprint.
  • You need to be safety-conscious, energetic, and able to understand your role in our team.

REQUIREMENTS: What you bring to our workplace
Education: Secondary School Diploma:
  • Grade 12 mathematics and Grade 12 English or French course.
  • Post-secondary courses will also be recognized. (course code must start with M for Math and E for English/F for French)

Experience:
  • Labour experience is an asset.

Testing:
  • Successful results in a General Aptitude Test is a condition of employment.

CONDITIONS:
  • Wages vary by department
    • News Mill: $26.92/hr (90% for the first 1,000 hrs – $24.23)
    • Paper Mill: $26.70/hr (80% progression program to start – $21.36)
  • Shift work required: 8- or 12-hour shifts, including days, evenings and nights.

  • GFFP Kapuskasing operations include the newsprint mill with some 350 employees, a sawmill with 125 employees, and a forest management operation with 100 employees.
  • Planned as a model town, Kapuskasing is a bilingual community with a population of close to 10,000 that serves several smaller nearby communities.
  • Housing costs in Kapuskasing are about a third of the Ontario average, and the area boasts good schools and health care.
  • The area appeals to outdoor enthusiasts and offers many recreational activities – especially boating, fishing, and hunting.
