Laundry Facility Manager

What you will be doing:

· Organize, coordinate, supervise and lead the day-to-day operation of the Laundry department to service our hospitality operation in Niagara on the Lake

· Liaise with the Maintenance department in ensuring effective preventive maintenance programs for all Laundry equipment

· Schedule laundry production to provide a smooth and continuous flow of work through all operations (Hotel, Spa, Food and Beverage)

· Fully respect and comply with hotel policies and procedures

· Detect waste and implement corrective measures.

· Managing linen inventories and linen quality controls; inclusive of conducting accurate monthly linen inventories, and ensure accurate linen distribution to the hotel.

· Participate in regular monthly communication meetings and daily briefings

· Take responsibility and control of labor productivity, expenses, and implement cost saving measures whenever applicable

· Manage daily payroll.

· Maintain established productivity levels by holding team members accountable

· Maintain accurate records of linen productions and losses to maintain proper linen discard programs

· Ensure quality standards

· Ensure strict adherence to Hotel Health & Safety procedures

· Ensure proper records are kept with excellent attention to detail

· To be responsible for the training and development of the Laundry staff

· To be knowledgeable of various textiles and textile care including the most appropriate laundering methods and techniques for each item.

· Perform other tasks as assigned by manager.

· Nice to have a basic mechanical/electrical knowledge of equipment maintenance

· Hands-on on the day-to-day operations. This is a working-manager position that will require lifting, sorting, folding, driving and delivery of laundry.

· The role will also involve the storage, handling, cleaning and delivery of chairs, tables, cutlery and dishes.

Your experience and skills include:

· Previous Laundry Management experience (3-5 years)

· Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications preferred

· Excellent communication and organizational skills

· Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities

· Highly responsible & reliable

· Ability to work cohesively as part of a team

· Valid G Ontario Driving Licence in good standing.

· Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings and holidays.

· Lifting of laundry bags will be required

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $40,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
