Learning and Talent Development Consultant (12-Month Contract)
Are you a learning professional with a passion for leading learning and talent development projects? Reporting to the Senior Manager of Learning & Talent Development, you will design, develop, and deliver learning and talent development programs and initiatives to support our strategic priorities. You will ensure that programs enhance the employee experience and reflect standard methodologies in design by applying adult learning and organizational change principles. About the Role
  • Identify learning needs and recommend learning and sustainment strategies in consultation with key partners to develop solutions to achieve desired business outcomes that may include non-learning recommendations.
  • Manage full cycle of medium to large scale projects including developing project plan; identifying key steps, achievements, timelines, and required resources, managing stakeholders, proposing recommendations; implementation and measuring success/conducting evaluations.
  • Procure or build leadership and learning program content in collaboration with colleagues, consultants, subject matter experts (internal and external). Facilitate sessions as needed.
  • Design and lead stakeholder engagement sessions and focus groups with internal and external partners at all levels as needed.
  • Develop communication and change management plans, identifying required organizational touchpoints, timelines, and key messages.
  • Meet with leaders to provide program overviews, guidance on the leader’s role in the provision of information or communication of the program, and mentor leaders on how to appropriately communicate an action plan.
  • Collaborate closely with vendors and partner with internal clients at all levels of the organization.
  • Recommend continuous improvement opportunities to enhance the employee experience and advance the HR People Strategy.
About You
  • Post-secondary education with minimum of 5 years of extensive experience in the development and delivery of learning programs in a corporate environment. Education in Adult Training & Development, Leadership and /or Organizational Development or equivalent.
  • Proven success leading leadership development programs.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply adult learning and education principles in the design, development, and evaluation of programs.
  • Experience working with integrated learning and talent management (LMS) systems such as Workday.
  • Previous project management and vendor management experience to deliver programs and initiatives. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and work on projects simultaneously.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to conduct consultations, gather needs, facilitate sessions, propose recommendations, and seek buy-in from leadership and stakeholders.
  • Relationship building skills with demonstrated experience in providing advice to clients in the development and implementation of programs, and initiatives, including analysis, research, design, development, facilitation, and program evaluation.
  • Strong computer skills with using MS Office suite to develop resources such as job aids, guides, tip sheets, presentations, and reports.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to meet tight deadlines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Instructional design skills and demonstrated knowledge editing and publishing accessible e-learning using platforms such as Articulate RISE and Evolve is preferred.
