The following provides an overview of the opportunity:

Your Experience and Education:

  • A University Degree
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Business Consultant
  • Has 10 years of experience in the below:
  • Analyzing initiatives to measure and improve performance management and decision-making through data integrity and advanced data analytics and visualization techniques and tools
  • Identifying and implementing artificial intelligence and/or robotic process automation technologies to improve or optimize business processes.

Position responsibilities involved, but not limited to:

There are several broad task areas where the Level 3 Business Consultant will be called upon to provide the above services.

They may include but are not limited to the following field of activities:

  • Analyze and identify if the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tool can be integrated with the existing systems, and how much efforts are required for the integration
  • Elicit, document, and manage stakeholder requirements to meet business and project objectives
  • Assess and prioritize the identified opportunities
  • Build controls and metrics into processes being automated
  • Develop testing plans and testing scripts
  • Building Proficiency knowledge of Robotic Process Automation suites
  • Conduct a high-level fit-gap analysis, identify the areas that potentially can use Robotics Process Automation & Machine Learning (RPA/ML) software and consider best practices used by other Government of Canada Departments
  • Conduct a series of interviews and job shadowing sessions with the Process Owners to understand the current state for the identified process
  • Conduct end-to-end integration and regression testing
  • Conduct Go-Live activities based on the roll-out strategy
  • Conduct unit and integration testing in the Development and QA environment
  • Define the future state operating model to maintain the automated solution
  • Assess required changes to business processes in support of, or, to enable implementation of artificial intelligence.
  • Design and program Process Automation solutions (Bots) by analyzing operational processes and recommending scope for automation; using advanced programming and configuration skills to deliver on automation projects across the enterprise.
  • Determine business needs, and recommend suitability for automation
  • Develop Assessment Report and Presentation based on the assessment
  • Develop exception handling and incident management frameworks
  • Develop solutions by preparing and evaluating alternative workflow solutions
  • Document findings from analysis, and this includes (but not limited to) pros, cons, feasibility of the integration, integration options and recommendation, implementation plan, timeline, and cost estimates
  • Document the areas that potentially can be improved and/or automated for the purpose of improving efficiency and productivity
  • Document the Current State Process Map and develop the Process Definition Document
  • Draft test plans and validate results by testing automated processes
  • Identify and test the appropriate and most suitable AI/RPA/ML tools and approaches (such as natural language processing) to address the department’s needs
  • Estimate required efforts (including timeline and costs) to implement Robotics Process Automation & Machine Learning (RPA/ML) tool
  • Facilitate end user testing in the Development and QA environment
  • Gather and review process information for the identified process
  • Identify key activities to be automated and optimized, and develop a Preliminary Future State Process
  • Identify list of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cognitive Automation opportunities
  • Identify the relevant Process Owners at the working level and form an Agile working group
  • Migrate the AI solution and/or Cognitive Automation to either Quality Assurance (Q/A) or Production environment
  • Provide reference by writing documentation • Building Proficiency knowledge of Robotic Process Automation suites
  • Develop satellite tools as needed to implement AI solutions, including integration with existing IMT/IT tools such as eDocs
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Recommend a road map and develop a high-level implementation plan
  • Review and analyze back office processes for lines of business.
  • Review and assess existing Robotics Process Automation & Machine Learning (RPA/ML) software functionality to determine if the tool can be leveraged for lines of business to automate the processes, improve efficiency and productivity
  • Validate the Current State Process Map and Process Definition Document with the Process Owners, Project Sponsor, and key stakeholders
  • Validate the Future State Process design and obtain an initial sign-off from the Project Sponsor
  • Conduct training and knowledge transfer activities
  • Support the development of the business continuity plans
