    Summary

    This position is responsible for performing mechanical repairs and maintenance to vehicles in an accurate and timely fashion, ensuring that the quality of the repair will foster long-term customer satisfaction, thereby encouraging repeat and referral business.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Performs repairs on vehicles as assigned.
    • Performs vehicle inspections and assessments including diagnosis issues.
    • Documents all work performed to Manufacturer standards and/or recommended on the repair order.
    • Road tests vehicles as required.
    • Ensures that customer cars are kept clean.
    • Handles customer complaints immediately and according to dealership policy.
    • Attends all training courses as requested by service management.
    • Assists in training and supervising apprentice technicians.
    • Shuttles vehicles into and out of service area.
    • Maintains complete knowledge of and complies with company and departmental policies, procedures and standards.
    • Maintains customer and company confidence by keeping information confidential and secure.
    • Maintains a positive working relationship with team members and management in a team environment.
    • Sets-up and organizes individual work area with designated supplies, forms and resource materials while maintaining cleanliness.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Automotive service technician trade certification to meet provincial requirements.
    • Must have 301S License
    • Maintains all relevant Licenses and Qualifications to perform duties.
    • Thorough knowledge of mechanical repairs and procedures.
    • Knowledge of Provincial Safety Standards concerning the performance and area of position responsibility.
    • Valid Ontario Driver’s License and clean drivers abstract.
    • Ability to drive manual transmission is required for this role.
    • Ability to work cohesively with employees and managers as part of a team.
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
    • Must be able to communicate in verbal and written English.
    • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines.
    • Detail oriented and excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
