Overview

The Role:
The Machine Operator is critical to PepsiCo Beverages because you will be responsible for efficiently operating and troubleshooting various pieces of production equipment, on all three production lines: can line, bottle line, and BIB line, in a safe manner. A strong focus on housekeeping and product quality. Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Part Time, Permanent
Hours: 20 - 40 hrs/week
Shift: 6am to 2:30pm
Days: Monday to Friday

Pay Rate: $24.17/hr
Location: 1850 Ellice Ave, Winnipeg

The work you’ll be doing:

  • Build stable, secure and accurate pallets by logically placing products;
  • Constantly manipulating products that can weight up to 50-75 lbs (it saves time at the gym!);
  • Load/unload trucks as required, including returning stock, shells, pallets, etc. to inventory;
  • Frequently lifting/carrying a maximum of 50 lbs
  • Occasionally pushing/pulling/lifting a maximum of 100 lbs. (with the aid of a mechanical device)
  • Frequent bending and reaching above the shoulder
  • Separate out of date and sellable product to the appropriate areas;
  • Keep the work environment clean;
  • Perform all tasks in an efficient and safe way;
  • Make sure the work reports are well completed;
  • Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example;
  • Follow the supervisor’s or the team leader’s directives.


Qualifications


Who’s a good fit for the team:


  • High School Diploma, Professional Studies Diploma or Equivalence;
  • A team player who strives for efficiency;
  • Experience working in a Machine operating position, an asset
  • Previous warehouse experience in any capacity, an asset
  • Forklift experience, preference will be given to individuals with a Forklift Certificate
  • Able to demonstrate an aptitude in basic writing and mathematics to complete any required paperwork accurately and legibly
  • Ability to work shift work (evenings/afternoons/weekends)
  • Problem-solving skills along with the ability to troubleshoot machine problems and make adjustments as necessary
  • Team player who shows initiative, reliability, and flexibility
