MAINTENANCE LABOURER

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Labourer will be responsible for performing general building and property maintenance. He/she will maintain HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems and equipment. The Maintenance Labourer is also responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining equipment in accordance with safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes. The Maintenance Labourer will be responsible for the fabrication and repair of jigging and fixtures, as required. Additional duties may include tending to the furnace and boiler, performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of need for repairs.

REQUIREMENTS

· High school diploma/GED.

· 2 years of maintenance experience, considered an asset.

· Millwright or Journeyman Welder certificate, or equivalent, considered an asset.

· Valid Driver’s License

· Ability to perform small repairs (e.g. caulking, replacing washers, and replacing light fixtures).

· Mechanical and electrical aptitude.

· Previous maintenance experience, considered an asset.

· Strong knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

· Able to create alternative solutions to problems.

- Fabrication experience, considered an asset.

· Strong attention to detail.

  • Shift work required.
