Our company is a growing national leader in its industry with operations located across Canada. We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Edmonton, AB. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and within a team environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • performing maintenance requirements on motors, conveyor systems production machines, operational manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions,
  • locating sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problem using precision measuring and testing instruments,
  • fabricating, disassemble and assemble production equipment to gain access and to remove defective parts,
  • monitoring and tracking the performance of plant equipment and new installations,
  • performing preventive maintenance on all equipment in the plant and offices,
  • controlling downtime by informing production operators of routine preventive maintenance and monitoring compliance,
  • welding and employ basic shop floor skills (drill, press, grinder and other metalworking tools),
  • reading and interpreting blueprints and equipment manuals,
  • providing regular reporting to senior management on operational issues,
  • identifying and reporting any potential hazards, near misses and incidents,
  • following maintenance policies and procedures and working in compliance with the Health and Safety Program.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 3-5 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Energetic and detail oriented with a passion for providing excellent service and quality.
  • Strong hands on work ethic.
  • Flexible to work outside regular business hours when required in order to meet operational needs.
  • Team player that leads by example and takes ownership of position responsibilities and special projects to ensure key deadlines are consistently met.
