Kelly Services has partnered with a leading food manufacturing and distributor to recruit a full-time Maintenance Technician for their Mississauga, ON location. Hours: 6:00 pm- 6:00 am (12 hour continental shifts)

Payrate: $37.00 hrs. to start + $2.50 shift premium

Fulltime- Direct Hire

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Preventative Maintenance (PM) of all site equipment. Specifically, bakery & packaging process equipment.
  • Troubleshoot part removal, robotic machinery issues
  • Troubleshoot and set up label decorating and vision inspection equipment.
  • Follow defined process for MES and SAP.
  • Preventative maintenance on all equipment
  • Optimize Run Time / Minimize Downtime
  • Responsible for coaching/mentoring/training maintenance technicians/apprentices
  • Serves as a strong technical resource in the plant.
  • Monitor and advise management /mechanic lead hand regarding low stock for critical spare parts as well as consumable inventory items.
  • Follow all Lock-out Tag-out procedures
  • Work as a team with all levels of production staff

Job Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • At least one year of work experience in a mechanical or manufacturing setting or equivalent education is required.
  • Basic understanding of systems, equipment, and schematics
  • Strong hydraulics and electrical experience
  • Progressive knowledge of electrical, electronic, PLC, applications, hydraulics, schematics
  • Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, blueprints, schematics, charts, diagrams, etc.
  • Ability to use precision measuring devices including amp meters, electric meters, and hydraulic gauges
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Good troubleshooting skills
  • Basic mathematical skills used to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use decimals and fractions

Other Skills or Assets

  • Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) license (preferred)
  • 5 years’ experience in a related position within the manufacturing industry, with a preferred background in pharmaceutical, food or beverage consumer packaging (preferred)
