We are looking for a Mall Cleaner to join the team at our shopping centre Portage Place located at 393 Portage Avenue in Winnipeg. Reporting to the Property Manager, the position will be responsible for ensuring the Shopping Centre common and public areas are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and adaptable individual who is a team player willing to go the extra mile to help maximize guest satisfaction in our shopping centre.

The working hours are as per schedule. Wage starting at $15.53 as per Collective Agreement. Benefits package included.


Key Responsibilities

  • Following cleaning protocol as detailed by Property Manager;
  • Ensuring all common areas are maintained to the highest standard;
  • Emptying all garbage containers and ensuring the proper disposal of all waste;
  • Maintaining cleanliness on all elevators and escalators;
  • Cleaning bathrooms and replenishing supplies on a regular basis;
  • Utilizing the auto floor scrubber in a safe manner to clean floors;
  • Responding to calls for spills/cleaning as quickly as possible;
  • Working with other cleaning staff to ensure all areas of concern are covered;
  • Treating all Portage Place equipment and supplies with care;
  • Maintaining organization of all equipment in appropriate areas for cleaning;
  • Treating all tenants and customers with respect; and
  • Assisting Maintenance, Administration or Security when required.


What you bring

  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in a cleaning position;
  • Experience working effectively with a team;
  • Commercial cleaning experience;
  • Ability to read and understand cleaning supply labels;
  • Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time and to lift up to 25lbs;
  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for cleanliness and organization;
  • High level of professionalism and ethical conduct.
