We are currently seeking a Manager of Procurement to join our team of passionate employees.

Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain, the Manager, Procurement will be responsible for:

  • Working with all packaging suppliers to ensure customer expectations are met regarding specifications, quality, and cost.
  • Sourcing and costing any and all packaging materials required for current and potential customers and products.
  • Tracking and reporting any cost savings initiatives to customers.
  • Working with R&D and the Director of Business Development to source packaging as well as preparing and delivering samples to potential customers.
  • Leading projects related to new and existing customers, working with internal and external resources to implement new product developments, cost savings, and other projects.
  • Initiating the approval process for any packaging substitutions with customers.
  • Representing Highbury Canco in all sourcing activities related to packaging.
  • Ensuring compliance with the supplier qualification procedure.
  • Maintaining a supplier scorecard and reviewing it with top packaging suppliers annually.
  • Investigating, validating, resolving and negotiating any and all supplier claims related to packaging.
  • Leading annual planning process as related to packaging volumes and standard costs.
  • Monitoring and reacting to economic indicators in order to minimise risk to both Highbury Canco and customers.
  • Negotiating supply agreements with packaging suppliers.
  • Determining and contracting economic order quantities with all packaging suppliers that support raw material inventory targets.
  • Ensuring safety policies, quality standards and standard operating procedures are followed.

Job Requirements:

  • University degree OR College diploma in business, logistics, material planning, or equivalent
  • Ability to lead a cross functional team
  • PMAC Membership
  • SCMP and/or CPSM designation.
  • Strategic sourcing Knowledge
  • Experience in Materials Management
  • Financial analysis skills
  • Logistics skills
  • Proficiency with and ability to learn software systems including MS Office, SAP
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a fast-paced production environment with SAP experience would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement Principals would be an asset
  • Excellent communication skills
