The opportunity:
We are looking for a Manager, Talent Acquisition to join Nova Scotia Power’s Talent Acquisition team. Our downtown based corporate head office is located along the Halifax waterfront, where we offer a hybrid work option enabling you to work from home 2 days each week.

Reporting to the Director, Talent and Change, you will lead a team of five Talent Acquisition Professionals in the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of our talent attraction and retention programs and processes. As a key member of our Talent team, you will bring a strategic lens and take ownership of advancing our existing talent acquisition practice including proactive search, talent pipeline development, job posting optimization, recruiting marketing and employer branding, comprehensive recruitment campaign planning, and building relationships with academic and community partners.

Key elements of the role include:
Leading a Talent Acquisition team focused on understanding the talent requirement across the business, partnering with the business to secure the best talent.
Working with our hiring managers and community partners to enable diversity, equity and inclusion, creating transparency and remove barriers from our talent acquisition processes.
Leading Senior Leadership Recruitment with a key focus on building strong internal stakeholder relationships.
Relationship management and collaboration with external partners including vendors, community group, recruitment agencies and academic partners.
Providing leadership and support for team members.

These responsibilities require attention to detail, ability to take ownership and the ability to work with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside partners.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Law or a relevant combination of education and/or experience. A Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) would be considered an asset.
You have a minimum of 10 years of experience across multiple HR functions. Previous experience in Pro-active Recruitment/Talent Acquisition with a strong emphasis on strategic sourcing and pipeline development would be considered an asset.
You bring strong experience coaching, leading, and developing teams as well as business acumen skills.
You thrive in an evolving and fast-paced environment and have strong organizational skills.
You have the natural ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
You bring exceptional interpersonal, and relationship building and influencing skills.
Previous experience in recruitment marketing, including leveraging social media is considered an asset.
Proficiency with Microsoft suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required.
We use Taleo, experience in using a similar applicant tracking systems (ATS) is considered ideal.
