ROLE PROPOSITION

Mantles Restaurant & Lounge, located in the lower lobby of the Sun Peaks Grand and in the heart of the village core, welcomes hotel guests, visitors to Sun Peaks Resort and the local community alike. Throughout the dining and lounge spaces the team works to responsibly cultivate a mountain of taste, care, and memories.

Servers play a vital role in the dining room. They are the point of contact for the guests, make tailored recommendations, provide elevated levels of hospitality, facilitate memorable dining experiences and let their personalities shine.

Servers work all meal periods; they ensure that guests’ needs are anticipated and that their dining experience is truly effortless. They work with the rest of the FOH team, and the culinary team to ensure that an exceptional guest experience is delivered and maintained across the service, whilst also caring for, contributing to, and nurturing a positive workplace culture.

The candidate best suited to the role is an accomplished communicator and multi-tasker, knows how to drive the guest experience, is passionate about food, drink, wine and great service, will work to assist the operation by running food, seating guests, answering calls and supporting the rest of the team, is compliant with Health & Safety, and most of all thrives in the mountains and all they have to offer.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Own the drink and food service for the guests of Mantles Restaurant & Lounge
  • Deliver exceptional guest experience from seating through to billing by following the standards of service
  • Anticipate guest needs throughout the dining experience from drink refreshes through to prompt billing
  • Use the POS system to send guest orders to the kitchen and bar, and to bill guests
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and well-presented section and contribute to the overall cleanliness of the restaurant on a shift-by-shift basis
  • Prompt and accurate cashing out at the end of service
  • Ensures operational Health and Safety regulations are adhered to at all times
  • Assist the restaurant team by running food and drinks to tables, bussing and resetting tables, and help to greet and seat guests as required
  • Acts as an ambassador for Sun Peaks Resort & Sun Peaks Grand Hotel
  • Willing to assist other Food & Beverage operations within the hotel and perform any other duties as necessary

Job Requirements/Qualifications:
IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Passionate about the mountains and skiing & snowboarding
  • 2-3 Years Serving Experience
  • Serving it Right Certification
  • Micros Simphony POS System experience
  • Excellent food and wine knowledge
  • Ability to work as a team and demonstrate initiative
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Dedicated to working within a dynamic team that focuses on collaboration and guest experience
  • Must be available to work various shifts, including availability on weekends
