Role Proposition:

Mantles Restaurant & Lounge, located in the lower lobby of the Sun Peaks Grand and in the heart of the village core, welcomes hotel guests, visitors to Sun Peaks Resort and the local community alike. Throughout the dining and lounge spaces the team works to responsibly cultivate a mountain of taste, care, and memories.

We are looking to hire a Food & Beverage Supervisor, who is a seasoned hospitality enthusiast with a taste for mountain adventure, to complement our existing team, and to play a vital role in creating positive experiences for our guests while guiding the restaurant operation.

Food & Beverage Supervisors are responsible for the day-to-day operation, directing the front of house team, whist working alongside the culinary team, to ensure that an exceptional guest experience is delivered and maintained, whilst also caring for, maintaining and nurturing a positive workplace culture.

Supervisors work all meal periods primarily overseeing the restaurant operation but are also responsible for In-Room-Dining and take-out as well as assisting the Bar / Lounge team as needed. The candidate best suited to the operation is an accomplished communicator, who drives the guest experience, is passionate about food, drink, wine and service, will work to assist the Restaurant Manager with tasks such as scheduling, inventory, ordering, is compliant with Health & Safety, and most of all thrives in the mountains and all they have to offer.

Accountabilities:

  • Supervise breakfast, lunch and dinner services in Restaurant & Lounge supporting and delegating tasks to the front-of-house team, overseeing all aspects of the service
  • Set up each service for success, checking reservations, assigning sections, compiling notes for each service’s pre-shift, conducting the pre-shift briefing, and checking that the restaurant is clean, tidy and ready for service
  • Delegate tasks to the front of house teams as appropriate, follow up on set expectations and hold team members accountable
  • Drive the guest experience by ensuring the standards of service and operational procedures are being adhered to
  • Take note of opportunities to improve processes to strengthen the guest and staff experience
  • Responsible for timely and effective service recovery as applicable, listening with empathy and taking action to ensure guests leave feeling valued, heard and satisfied with the outcome
  • Interact with guests throughout their time with us and quality check their dining experience
  • Order product as needed and maintain stock levels
  • Provide ongoing suggested operational improvements to the F&B Manager
  • Assist in the ongoing training of the bartenders, servers, and support team members, finding coaching opportunities and furthering skill development
  • Provide feedback to the F&B Manager on F&B team members’ performance and readiness for advancement opportunities.
  • Willing to assist other Food & Beverage operations within the hotel and perform any other duties as necessary

Ideal Candidates:

  • 1-2 Years of supervisory experience
  • Serving it Right Certification
  • Micros Simphony or Micros POS system experience
  • TouchBistro or equivalent hosting software experience
  • Excellent food and wine knowledge
  • Ability to work as a team and demonstrate initiative
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to motivate and support a team in a fast-paced environment, creating an innovative culture
  • Passion for guest service and the ability to consistently anticipate guest and team member needs
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Required to lift heavy objects safely such as kegs and gas cylinders, up to 20lbs
