Seeking to add a new member to our Manufacturing team! Primary duties for the position are immunoprinting on nitrocellulose membranes, buffer making, freeze-drying and specimen preparation/testing. Additional duties include knowledge on general laboratory skills, understanding and knowledge on maintaining stock levels of materials and chemicals, ability to work in a high-paced environment, ability to troubleshoot laboratory equipment, ability to perform repetitive tasks. A degree in Biochemistry or Chemistry is preferred.

· Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered

· 1-2 years related experience in a laboratory setting

· Experience in lyophilisation

· Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals

· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions

  • Experience working in an ISO certified Quality System

· Experience with cGMP guidelines

· Problem solving skills

· Shows initiative

· Excellent communications skills; both verbal and written

· Valid Driver’s license

· Willingness to work overtime (evenings and weekends) when necessary
IV. RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential functions of the Manufacturing Laboratory Technologist include but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform routine laboratory duties
  • Perform incoming testing of specimens
  • Execute designed experiments under supervision and prepare reports
  • Monitor supply inventory
  • Maintenance of SDS library
  • Recommend improvements to processes procedures and documents
  • Perform cleaning/disinfecting procedures
  • Perform freeze-drying process
  • Immunoprint nitrocellulose membranes using a Biodot©
  • Dispense/cap for freeze-drying
  • Visual inspection
  • Prepare buffers and solutions
  • Prepare Specimens for freeze-drying
  • Perform good laboratory practices
  • Follow standards set by the company based on cGMP, ISO: 9001 and ISO: 13485
  • Equipment cleaning and maintenance
  • Ensure a safe working environment
  • Generate required paperwork
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $32,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

  • HALIFAX, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
