The Marketing and Brand Strategist works in an integrated way to support brand and enrolment marketing needs across the institution. The incumbent develops and coordinates key brand marketing initiatives that primarily drives awareness about Sheridan and our value proposition, and support prospect generation, driving applications in priority programs and new launches. The incumbent works collaboratively within Communications, Public Affairs and Marketing (CPAM), as well as the Office of the Registrar (OTR), and Faculty personnel and managers to Faculties and other internal stakeholders to ensure consistent strategy, messaging and brand standards across campaigns. In this role, the incumbent will often work directly with our brand agency partner and be a key liaison.

The Marketing and Brand Strategist strategizes, plans, coordinates, executes and analyzes campaigns across platforms. The incumbent enhances marketing campaigns and compiles and utilizes analytics to support Manager and director in brand optimization. The incumbent briefs and liaises with agencies, works closely with internal Sheridan stakeholders, and collaborates with internal team members in Communications, Public Affairs and Marketing to develop, design and implement brand marketing strategies at Sheridan.

What You’ll be Doing

Developing and executing brand and marketing campaigns that support priorities identified by Sheridan.
Developing marketing plans which include strategy, tactics, competitive research from other institutions target audience profiles and enrolment target data.
Liaising with our brand agency to communicate priorities, strategy, deliverables and deadlines.
Working with market researcher and our data from Tableau system to collect and synthesize audience insights.
Determining strategy and tactics for campaign goals and objectives have been shared by manager/project owner.
Supporting the team in developing the marketing brief, including compiling consumer/business insights and pulling in relevant past campaign data to inform best practices
Generating reports both on scheduled and ad hoc basis to ensure account performance is on track to meet business objectives.
Providing meaningful insights and action plans to refine strategies, improve performance and advance further growth based on regularly monitoring campaign data and evaluating and tracking, KPIs.
Compiling and reviewing marketing analytics to gain an understanding of marketing impact.
Performing other related duties as assigned.

About You

You bring excellent marketing, communications, planning and project management skills with an understanding of marketing and brand strategy and demonstrated experience working at a strategic level.

Your exceptional written and oral communication skills allow you to elicit accurate information, and present recommendations and results to stakeholders.

Your research and analysis skills help you to facilitate the measurement, interpretation and presentation of information/data.

You enjoy balancing many different tasks, staying organized and like to develop processes or systems to keep things running smoothly.

The successful candidate will also meet the following qualifications:

4-year degree in business, marketing or related field of study
5 years of recent related experience in brand marketing and strategy with a focus on digital media. Knowledge base within the specialized field of marketing pertaining to best practices, strategy, campaign optimization and analytics (equivalency to be considered)
Experience briefing, working with and managing high-level agency relationships
Experience planning and coordinating ad creative development and deployment across a range of media, including social media, website, email, search, display and YouTube.
Intermediate experience with digital marketing best practices for varying channels (video, infographics, web, email, social media).
Professional use of social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Snapchat and Instagram, TikTok.
Intermediate to advanced skill working with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Acrobat)
Understanding and experience with AODA (Accommodation for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) and accessibility best practices.

Campus Location : Trafalgar (may be assigned activities at any Sheridan campus) once normal campus operations resume. This position will be a hybrid of on-campus and remote work.
