Description

We are looking for a dynamic, talented Marketing Director – Hydrogen Technologies- Americas to join our team specializing in Marketing for our New Power Business located in Mississauga, Canada. This role is designated hybrid and will require 30% of travel.

In this role, the Marketing Director will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Using broad marketing functional skills, drives the global marketing strategy in an identified business segment or geography.
  • Directs multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams to successfully achieve and exceed business goals.
  • Develops the Americas marketing strategy in identified business segment or geography, to differentiate Cummins from competition in market, and achieve business goals.
  • Establishes and implements medium-term and annual marketing plans, outlining the objectives, tactics, and resources necessary to support achievement of sales growth, market penetration and financial targets.
  • Directs ongoing market research to understand market trends and potential and product applications in identified markets; uses market research to drive business decisions and priorities.
  • Directs value package marketing activities to create a comparative advantage and meet profitability goals; ensures that sufficient local and global resources are assigned to achieve targeted performance.
  • Leverages the competencies in the global marketing team and represents identified business segment or geography in global marketing initiatives.
  • Serves as program leader or marketing leader for key Value Package Introduction (VPI) projects.
  • Translates the global brand strategy for the identified business segment or geography.
  • Provides input into annual operating plan and manages budget for area of responsibility.
  • Leverages relevant channel staff and knowledge to support marketing activities, champions Voice of the Customer into marketing programs.
  • Coaches and motivates marketing staff; provides guidance and direction on problems and issues; delegates work assignments considering employee skills and development needs.

Maximizing Profitability - Develops strategies that demonstrate the use of all marketing and sales levers (e.g., pricing strategies, promotions, volume-based incentives, and value, feature, or benefit selling) to optimize profit.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, Engineering, or related subject required
  • MBA or related graduate degree highly preferred
  • Minimum of Green Belt certification preferred
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations

Experience

  • Significant experience required including strategy, managerial, and budgetary experienceBroad business understanding required
  • Significant knowledge of and experience using the four P's of marketing (Product, Price, Promotion, and Placement) required
  • French as a 2nd language would be a plus
  • Drive market activities, including development of market strategy for the Americas and associated activities to support achievement of financial target, $250 million by 2025, $1 billion by 2030
  • Represent Cummins within industry associations such as Canadian Hydrogen Fuel Cells Association, US Fuel Cell, and Hydrogen Association
  • Advocate, working along with our government relationship team at Cummins, to interface with government entities across Canada and US. Represent Cummins at industry trade show and events to help promote business offerings and solutions
  • Develop our marketing communication plan for the Americas working with the marketing communications team
  • Partner with counterpart in Europe to leverage cross regional knowledge and capabilities

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
