Job Details:
  • Efficiently respond to required lifts from all work areas to support uninterrupted production flow
  • Retrieves and stores material from storage racks
  • Ensures all product is tagged properly before moving
  • Loads and unload trucks, as required
  • Dumps the scrap bins
  • Piles and stacks received material and dunnage in an organized manner
  • Retrieves and deliver machine fixtures in preparation for job set-ups
  • Inspects material handling equipment prior to use and records and/or reports any findings
  • Work as back up for Shipping/Receiving when required (ie: vacation, absence etc)
  • Operates material handling equipment in a safe manner
  • Participates in Tool Box Talks (departmental) from the Leadhand
  • Practices safe work habits in accordance to company Health & Safety procedures and the OH&S Act
  • Participates in training events, as determined by the Company
  • Demonstrates employee accountability to the Company’s 5S program by complying with work station cleanliness and organization
  • Other duties, as assigned/required
Qualifications:
  • A current Lift Truck Certificate, is an asset
  • A current Overhead Crane Certificate is an asset
  • 6–12 months experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Ability to work closely with fellow team members and also individually as required
  • Must demonstrate quality and attention to work details
  • Can follow written and verbal instructions
  • Shows exceptional people skills with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Has excellent attention to details along with great physical and mental capacity
  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
Requirements:
  • All new employees are required to provide an original Police Record Check
  • Proof of Secondary School Diploma is a must
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety rules and be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • A valid driver’s license or transportation required, as we are located in Cathcart ON, 10 minutes East of Woodstock and 10 minutes West of Burford, and not on a bus route
Work Conditions:
This is a physically demanding position that requires:
  • Continuous standing for extended periods of time.
  • Some heavy lifting, carrying and handling of objects.
  • Regular use of hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, bending/stretching, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, walking, pushing/pulling.
  • Repetitive motion and other job specific requirements.
  • Precise hand/finger movements.
  • Able to lift up to and including 50 lbs.
  • Physical Environment: Regular exposure to factors such as temperature fluctuations, moving machinery, loud noise, and dusty environments.
  • Sensory Attention: Need to give close attention with hearing or seeing to work surroundings. Must be able to handle exposure to different smells that may occur in the workplace.
  • Must be able to wear prescribed PPE that the company requires safety glasses, hearing protection, workboots/shoes and respiratory protection (depending upon job) etc.
  • Safety Sensitive Position: This position is a safety sensitive position and if it is not performed in a safe manner, can cause direct and significant damage to property, and/or injury to the employee and others around them.
