Relief full-time Medical Lab Assistant opportunity is available now at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook. Days of work are rotating and shifts include day and evening shifts.

What will you work on

MLAs perform a variety of duties such as taking blood and specimen samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, performing routine lab tests, distributing specimens to departments and outside Labs, operating related equipment, entering data into the LIS and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required.

About this location

East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH) is an acute care hospital with 75 beds. The lab is medium in size and performs both in and outpatient services. It is a regional referral site for selected testing and there are over 25 Med Lab Technologists and 22 Med Lab Assistants working across the various departments.

Grade 12
Successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program
One year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Valid BC Driver’s License
