We are currently seeking a Mill Operator 1.1 to join our team. This is a full-time permanent position with our Atlantic Operations based at our Touquoy mine. The work schedule is 4 days on, 4 days off working 12- hour shifts, switching between a run of days and a run of nights. Reporting to the Mill Supervisor, the Mill Operator is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and effective operation of any given mill process circuit. They also ensure that all equipment within the mill process circuit is operating at the highest standards to achieve defined targets.

The Opportunity:

  • Effectively operate any given mill process circuit to achieve defined operating parameters.
  • Performing required checks and record detailed operating information and notes in log sheets.
  • Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping in the work area.
  • Being able to conduct training and provide mentorship to trainees.
  • Communicating effectively (verbal and written).
  • Working with and assisting the maintenance team as required to ensure equipment is in optimal operating condition to avoid unnecessary downtime or delays.
  • Informing co-workers and supervisors of any identified issues.
  • Preparing work area and adhering to all job safety requirements prior to starting work and keeping the work area safe and free of hazards.
  • Participating in site specific training.
  • Performing related duties, including operation of other circuits or processes as required.
  • Site clean-up, housekeeping and/or ground work.
  • Monitoring of pumps.
  • Installing and maintaining hoses.
  • Small and medium sized equipment operation.
  • All other duties as may be assigned.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous Mill Process Operator experience an asset.
  • Well versed in industrial or mill site protocols, rules and code of conduct is an asset.
  • Ability to perform a variety of manual tasks requiring the use of independent judgment and action.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Adhere to all company and site safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed properly.
  • Class 5 Drivers License
  • Ability to pass a background check.
